Review by Manuel Kreuzer:

I had the pleasure of taking part in the two-and-a-half-day workshop "Architectural and industrial photography in digital medium format" in Berlin at the weekend. It was an incredibly inspiring and educational experience.
We had the opportunity to work with high-end cameras from ALPA and Phase One under the guidance of Alexander Schippel, an experienced architectural photographer. The workshop offered us in-depth insights into the techniques of architectural photography, such as shifting and working with different lenses. It was particularly fascinating to photograph the historic OSRAM factories in Berlin-Spandau and to take advantage of the unique opportunity to capture this special condition before the planned renovation by the architectural firm David Chipperfield. In addition to the practical part, we worked on image processing in Capture One and also printed images directly on site. The final image discussion with photo artist Ludwig Rauch gave us very valuable artistic and technical insights into image composition. It was also particularly nice to meet so many great people who share my passion for photography. The exchange and collaboration with the other participants made the workshop something very special.
Many thanks to Alexander Schippel and Kristina Zwirner for the organization and to Massimo Saracino from Phase One, Hans Peter Ochsner from ALPA of Switzerland and Andreas Marx from Novoflex for their support with the cameras and tripods.
The workshop was organized by p: photography unlimited berlin e.V., an association that sees itself as a supportive network and artistic production site for photographers in times of radical upheaval in photography. Alexander Schippel is the founder and director of this inspiring association.
