Born in Hamburg, Germany, Peter Beyer is a professional architectural photographer with a soft spot for documentary and street photography, currently based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Photography has played an important role in his life since he was 14. Starting with his father's camera and tough by his aunt in darkroom techniques he soon got addicted to shoot the world on film in 24x36mm and later up to 6x6. Not before 2009 he changed completely to digital techniques still missing the smell of lab chemistry and the shutter sound of pure mechanically driven cameras. Using digital Medium Format since 2019 changed the way of taking photographs even more back to the "good old days".
Even for architectural and advertising projects he prefers the reduction to B/W. The photographs are developed in a minimalistic old-fashioned darkroom way by using digital techniques.
